Archery Land is a family run outdoor forest archery range with a 50 year history in the scenic countryside of Hatsukaichi, Hiroshima. We offer a union of western-style archery with a delightful Japanese twist.

We also offer the rare opportunity to practice Kyudo in an outdoor environment, allowing one to truly step back in time and appreciate the tradition of Japanese archery just as it was practiced in ancient times.

Our facilities include 3 outdoor target ranges (with cover available during inclement weather) and a variety of forest targets to enjoy.

What's included in Kyudo Traditional Japanese Archery Experience in Hiroshima

You'll be introduced to the fundamentals of Kyudo and the enjoy shooting at your leisure over the course of approximately 1.5 hours. At the start, the staff will explain the safety protocol and basic techniques to use with the bow. From there you will start targets on our outdoor range. As you are guided through the methods, you'll learn more about Kyudo's history, the philosophy behind it, and how it differs from the traditions of western archery. After you've mastered the basics of Kyudo, you'll be able to use the remaining time to continue practicing on the range or try shooting in some of our more scenic locations in our private forest. *Due to the size and physical requirements of the Kyudo bows, this activity is intended for ages 15+* *Please note that we are located approximately 1.5 - 2.0 hrs away from Hiroshima Station by public transport*

  • The range is 1.5-2.0 hours away from Hiroshima station by way of public transport. Hiroshima station > Miyauchi Kushido via train, then Miyauchi Kushido > Tsuta via bus, then a 10 minute walk. We offer pick ups from the bus station upon request. Please plan accordingly when making a reservation.
