• Smoking on board

Smoking is prohibited anywhere on the ship.

Smoking is prohibited in all guest rooms, restaurants, public spaces, exterior decks, etc. Please use the "smoking room" for smokeless electronic cigarettes and heated cigarettes.

Smoking outside of designated smoking rooms is a very dangerous act that can lead to fires. We ask for your understanding and cooperation in order to maintain the safety and order of the voyage.

If we find any smoking taking place outside of designated smoking rooms, or bringing in cigarette butts or ashes, or disposing of them in the trash, we will charge you a cleaning (deodorization) fee of 20,000 yen, as well as the cost of the period during which the room is unavailable due to deodorization work.

Smoking in areas on board a ship where smoking is prohibited (Article 23-14 of the Enforcement Regulations of the Maritime Transportation Act) is prohibited by Article 23-2 of the Maritime Transportation Act. Violation of this provision will be subject to a fine of up to 300,000 yen (Article 53 of the same Act).

Up to one infant may travel free of charge per adult, but any infants exceeding this number will be treated as children and will be required to pay the children's fare.

If an infant uses a seat, he or she will be treated as a child and will be required to pay the child fare. In that case, please make a reservation as a "child."

Infants up to the age of 0 who share a bed can board regardless of the number of adults/children.

• Pregnant women

Pregnant passengers are required to fill out a pledge form . Please fill out the necessary information and submit it at the counter when you check in to board the ship.

There are no doctors or nurses on board our ferries. As the voyage is long from departure to arrival, unexpected situations may occur. Therefore, regarding boarding pregnant women, we place the highest priority on ensuring their safety, and we will not allow women who are 8 months pregnant (28th week of pregnancy) or older to board.

Even if we receive a reservation for a pregnant woman who is less than 8 months pregnant, if the captain determines that her physical safety cannot be ensured, taking into account the weather and other factors during the voyage, we will refuse to allow her to board.

Sales of medicines at onboard stores

The law amending the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law (enforced June 1, 2009) has revised the system for selling over-the-counter drugs. We have been selling drugs (such as motion sickness medication) at our onboard stores with the approval of a "special drug sales business." However, due to the amendment of the law, we will no longer be able to sell drugs at our onboard stores as of March 1, 2018. Thank you for your understanding.

If you will be using medical oxygen tanks or medical equipment on board, please be sure to notify the reservation center in advance.
