Explore the Great African Sea Forest on our snorkeling experience and immerse yourself in the magical world beneath the kelp. Our kelp forests are teeming with colour and life. There is no place quite like it. Our highly experienced guides will introduce you to the creatures living in our kelp forests during their initial briefing. They will also help you get fitted with the high-quality snorkeling equipment which we provide, to make sure that this experience is warm and enjoyable. The easy shore entries make our snorkeling experience suitable for most ages and does not require you to be a skilled swimmer. Each guide has a safety buoy with them in the water which less confident snorkelers can hold on to.

What's included in Kelp Forest Snorkeling in Cape Town

(Subject to Option Inclusions)

We begin the snorkeling experience at our center in Muizenberg where you will be briefed and fitted with equipment. The chosen snorkeling location is weather dependent as we want to be sure to select the best location in terms of visibility and calmness for the day. However, most days we go to Windmill Beach in Simons Town. All locations are shore entries. We do not use a boat. Depending on the location, we may encounter fish, octopus, a variety of shy sharks, sea stars, anemones, brittle stars, abalone and other wonderful creatures. We have on occasion been curiously eyed by passing seals, stingrays and penguins. It is always a surprise and we never know what the ocean will reveal. Our guides will help you enter the water, get comfortable with your equipment, point out interesting marine life and provide a buoy to hold onto if needed. After we are done snorkeling, we debrief and change into our clothes. Participants have the option of departing from the snorkeling site if they have their own vehicle or accompanying us back to our center in Muizenberg.
