Rather than having a proper meal, we prefer to take you on a local food adventure at the backstreets of Istanbul! We will start in Karakoy with sampling some local foods and talk about the district, then we will take a ferry to the Asian side of Istanbul, Kadikoy and have foods and drinks with locals. During our tour we will sample at least 10 local dishes and some local beverages.
Karakoy is a bustling neighborhood that was once the industrial heart of the city. As you wander through the narrow streets, you can still see remnants of its industrial past in the form of old warehouses and factories. But today, Karakoy is also home to trendy cafes, boutiques, and restaurants, making it the perfect place to begin our food tour.
The journey from the European side of Istanbul to Kadikoy takes around 20 minutes by ferry, but it feels like stepping into a different world. As you leave behind the iconic sights of the historic peninsula, such as the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, and sail across the shimmering waters of the Bosphorus, you are greeted by the sight of minarets and modern skyscrapers rising up from the hills of Kadikoy. Ferry ride is included with the tour price.
The Asian side of the food market is a bustling and vibrant place, filled with a wide array of flavors and dishes that are sure to tantalize the taste buds of even the most discerning foodie. From savory street food stalls to upscale restaurants, there is something for everyone in this diverse and eclectic culinary landscape. We will sample lots of local tastes
