The area of Montenegro this adventure takes place in is virtually uninhabited. The only visits are from a few local cattle herders, during the summer, with tourists seldom seen. As a result, this experience is ideal for those looking for solitude in the nature and a chance to experience the unexplored.
This is a little-known, truly unforgettable, circular hike, spread over approximately 15 km, featuring one of the least commercially exploited areas of Montenegro. During the hike, you will summit a breathtaking 2000 m peak and visit a beautiful glacial lake. Firstly, you will gradually summit Mali Zurim. This peak is 2000 m high and requires roughly a 500 m elevation gain from the starting point and it offers a beautiful view form the top. Following the descent, depending on your choice, there are several routes leading to Captain's Lake. Some meander through a valley, while others take you over the mountains, giving you an opportunity to conquer additional summits. Just before the descent to the lake, you will stop at a view point directly above, with an opportunity to take amazing photos of the lake and the surrounding mountains. Once at the lake you will have a break on its banks before continuing for another 5 km and finishing at the starting point.
You will make your own way to the meeting points
