We'll start this tour by sightseeing some of the beautiful coastline landscapes and the islet of Vila Franca do Campo while we drive towards Furnas. This trip takes around 45 min. from Ponta Delgada.
Lagoa das Furnas
The “Lagoa das Furnas” (Furnas Lagoon), naturally nestled within a caldera (dormant volcano) stands out as a prominent attraction for tourists, hikers, biologists, and bird watchers alike, owing to its diverse array of endemic and invasive flora and fauna species freely roaming this area (non-dangerous). Being an area so rich in geo thermal activity, here the locals improvised an unique way of taking advantage of this for cooking an unique portuguese dish: the "Cozido das Furnas", a mix of meats, vegetables and tubers that are slowly cooked underground for 6-7 hours.

As part of the gastronomical experience of this tour we'll try the aforementioned geo-cooked stew at a traditional local restaurant with Starter, Main Dish, Drinks, Dessert and Coffee included in the menu (vegetarian option available and alternative dishes for children with pre-warning).

- Entries for the "Dona Beija" hot springs (16€ per adult) only available online through their own site, book it for 20h30 (8:30pm) or 19h00 (7:00pm). Check thermal slots before you book this tour, if no availability, we can't guarantee you attend the thermals at another time.
- We book the "Dona Beija" entries for you: extra fee of 17€ charged over the listed tour price. Please confirm with us after booking if you opt for this choice and guarantee your spot inside.
- The remaining time of the Tour (60 minutes difference) is the minimum time driving between our destinations. Don't worry we'll have plenty to see even while driving.
- Please bring swimwear and a bathing towel for the hot springs baths. If you wish for a locker there's a 2€ extra fee on site and for hot water showers there's a 1€ fee, these extras are not included on the tour price.
- Any options chosen outside the menu for dinner will be charged separately.
- The entrance to the "Lagoa das Furnas" is charged 3€ for non-residents, this fee is only charged if the box office is open at time of arrival to the lagoon.
- Please consult with your health physician before participating in thermal baths.

Pickup and Dropoff
You can choose to be picked up from a list of locations, or alternatively, have the choice to make your own way to the meeting points
Please arrive at the pick up point 5 minutes before departure time.
Additional Information
Please wait at the entrance of your accommodation at the time specified by us when we reach out to confirm the last details of your booking (15 minutes is our maximum waiting time, after you'll be considered a no-show). We'll arrive in a grey van with our logo on its sides. Please note that pickups at Ribeira Grande will be charged an extra fee of 10€ at the end of this tour, for each booking not by person.
