We might even do an ice-cream stop along the way. Our tour is unique in that it is offered by IN2theCAPE, an operator that is passionate about sharing the beauty and wonder that the Western Cape has to offer in abundance. Gordons Bay lies at the start of the iconic R44 Clarens Drive which snakes along the Eastern Coast of False Bay. The road is etched into the mountains which seem to plunge into the ocean. Although no stops are planned along this route, we do stop at points for photo opportunities. Sightings could include whales and baboons but the dramatic scenery is the real attraction.
Stony Point Harbor at Betty's Bay was an active whaling station until 1930. It has a rich history but today is home to a colony of African Jackass Penguins. The site has been declared protected and is administered by Cape Nature. The penguins are viewed from walkways that allow easy viewing while not disturbing them. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring along your camera. The best place to enjoy lunch is at the local restaurant ON THE EDGE, we have never had a bad meal here.
