A day devoted to art and history. This morning you leave for Normandy (1h30 long ride to get there) Along the way, your guide will remind you of the main characteristics of the Impressionist movement. Color & light are his key words. Giverny is a charming little village at the entrance to Normandy. This is where Claude Monet settled during the second part of his life. He remained there for almost half a century. The leader of the Impressionists said that his garden was his true masterpiece. You will visit the 2 gardens. You will of course discover the Japanese bridge and the water lilies. You will also visit Claude Monet's house. Free time for lunch in Giverny.
In the afternoon, you will stop in the village of La Roche Guyon. Beautiful ride from Giverny overlooking the river (1 hour). Roche Guyon is ranked among the most beautiful villages in France. You will visit the castle with your guide. You can see it from afar with its keep overlooking the Seine. It was this castle that served as the headquarters of Erwin Rommel during the Second World War. You will be impressed by the bunkers built into the rock. After the castle visit ride back to Paris (1h30)
