Discover UNESCO-listed towns of Třebíč and Telč on a day trip from Brno. These historical gems, nestled in the heart of the Czech Republic, promise an unforgettable journey through time. In Třebíč we will begin with a Benedictine monastery, founded in 1101. We will explore the castle grounds where this ancient order once thrived, and feel the echoes of centuries past. We will wander through the cobbled streets and marvel at the Jewish Quarter—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—where centuries-old synagogues and homes stand as silent witnesses to cultural exchange. Our next stop will be Telč town which boasts one of Europe’s most beautiful squares—Náměstí Zachariaše z Hradce. We will stroll through this enchanting square, surrounded by Renaissance houses with arcades and adorned façades nad we will visit to the Telč Castle, where centuries unfold within its walls.

Our first stop on our day trip will be Třebíč town, which is 1.5 hrs driving from Brno. In Třebíč we will visit to the basilica which along with the Jewish Quarter, was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In this Romanesque-Gothic gem we will explore its rich history, admire its architectural beauty, and appreciate its role in preserving cultural heritage. After Basilica visit we will wander around Jewish quarter once a former ghetto, stands as one of the best-preserved Jewish ghettos in Europe. The quarter boasts 123 houses and 2 synagogues, each with its own story. These residential buildings, often condominium-style, have witnessed centuries of history and continuous use. Our last stop will be Jewish Cemetry perched on a hill above the quarter, the cemetery holds around 4,000 gravestones, spanning centuries of Jewish heritage.
Our next stop is Teč town, which is 40 min driving from Třebíč town. Since 1992, Telč has held this prestigious title, thanks to its exceptionally well-preserved architecture and historical significance1. Right after our arrival to Telč, we will take a stroll around Zachariáš of Hradec Square which is named after the nobleman who transformed Telč into the architectural gem it is today. This square boasts a stunning Renaissance-burgher houses with colorful facades, and cobblestone streets.
Telč Castle is celebrated as one of the finest examples of Moravian Renaissance architecture. Its elegant design and meticulous craftsmanship make it a true treasure. We will tour the castle original Renaissance premises from the 16 century. Our waz back to Brno takes about 2 hrs.
