It was build by Ashikaga Yoshimitsu in 1397 during the Muromachi period. The Kinkaku, or Golden Pavilion, is an iconic Zen Buddhist temple. Its top two floors are covered in gold-leaf, shimmering in the midst of a beautiful garden and reflecting pond. Its historical significance and cultural beauty has made it a globally recognized symbol of Japan.
Here you will drink matcha green tea. Entoku-in is a historic Buddhist temple built in the Muromachi Period, renowned for its meditative Zen rock gardens. The temple houses notable cultural artifacts, including screens painted by legendary artist, Kano Sanraku. The wabi-sabi aesthetic of the temple grounds mirror classic Japanese perspectives.
