Korčula Island is known for its stunning beauty and exceptional white wines. This tour combines both and will give you a chance to experience something that otherwise you could easily miss.
The hike is diverse and not really demanding. However, you will need to walk a few steps up or down a rock and lower your back once or twice. The preserve is a real gem of nature and a highlight of the tour. The winery is a restored family house, with a charming courtyard and indoor seating. A substantial snack is also served.
The wines are excellent and the owners are lovely and friendly. Pošip and Grk are local grapes, unique to the island. Enchanting Forest and Wine tasting, I promise.
On the way back to Korčula, we will take a slightly different route and stop for a few minutes at the viewpoint on the hill above the town. You will feel like you can almost touch the town's red roofs. From there, we will drive to Korčula Bus Station or to your hotel.
Pickup included
We will take a 5-10 min drive to the village of Žrnovo. This village has four neighbourhoods and we will visit the one named Brdo. From there, we will start a 2 - 2.5h easy to moderate hike / walking in the countryside. The views of Pelješac channel will follow us for the first 15 - 20 min. Imagine the waters of the Adriatic in all shades of blue and turquoise, dry stacks made of white stones, green, green, and more green all around.
Kočje nature preserve can be easily described as an enchanting forest. Strange rock formations, 20m high evergreen oak trees, moss and fern everywhere around us will leave a strong impression of being in a fairytale. If fairies are real, they have to live in a place like this. From there, an old footpath will take us through the fields and vineyards to another part of Žrnovo village. There, we will taste some magic potions ;-)
Tasovac Vinery is located in a beautifully restored family house, with outdoor and indoor seating. Their wines are excellent and every year receive awards, from Decanter WWA among others. Pošip and Grk are white vines, indigenous to Korčula Island. Plavac mali is red, made from the most popular grapes in Southern Dalmatia. A snack will be served too.
