Our journey begins in the enchanting realm of Ano Vouves, nestled in the embrace of Kolymvari in Chania. Here, a mystical entity reigns—the Olive Tree of Vouves. This ancient sentinel stands as a testament to the whispers of time, deeply rooted in the fertile soil of Crete, Greece. Tales of its age weave a narrative both mysterious and ageless. Some lore claims it to be a venerable 2,000 years old, while scholars from the University of Crete believe its existence stretches back 4,000 years. Fragments of history, such as the nearby Geometric Period cemeteries, offer cryptic clues to its origin, yet the truth remains uncertain.
