As we leave Calgary behind, you’ll pass through the charming town of Cochrane, known as the "Gateway to the Rockies." Keep your camera ready for picturesque views of the gleaming Bow River and the iconic Cochrane Ranche. Watch for horses grazing in rolling foothills as we transition from prairie landscapes to mountain vistas, setting the stage for your Banff adventure.
Canmore
After winding through the foothills, we'll make our first official stop in charming Canmore at A&W—a perfect introduction to Canadian flavors with the Rockies as your backdrop. This 30-minute break lets you fuel up on their famous root beer, breakfast platters, or coffee while soaking in those first spectacular mountain views of your adventure.
Johnston Canyon
Now comes your first chance to experience Banff's breathtaking wilderness up close! You'll have 1 hour and 15 minutes to hike the scenic trail to Johnston Canyon's Lower Falls at your own pace. The well-maintained 1.1 km path winds through forest and along canyon catwalks, leading you to the thunderous waterfall where you can feel the cool mist and capture stunning photos.
