Sit back and enjoy the 30–40 minute drive through rolling hills and picturesque villages as we head toward Etyek, Budapest’s closest and most charming wine region. Your driver will share fun stories and local insights along the way, from Hungarian winemaking traditions to the rebirth of Etyek as a vibrant food and wine destination.
We begin with a visit to a family-run winery known for its fresh whites and sparkling wines. After a short walk through the vineyard or cellar (weather and season permitting), you'll enjoy a guided tasting of 4–5 wines. The host will explain the production process and the unique characteristics of the Etyek terroir casually and enjoyably, so that even non-wine enthusiasts will appreciate it.
Next, we visit a local craft cider house — one of Etyek’s hidden gems. You'll sample their refreshing apple and pear ciders, hear how they’ve fused Hungarian fruit tradition with modern techniques, and maybe even get a look at the fermentation process. A fantastic contrast to the wine, and a favourite for groups!
