Pick up from your hotel, estimated 30-40 minutes of car ride to Borneo Cultural Village
Upon arrival at the cultural village, you will be greeted with an indigenous welcome ceremony. The guide will provide a brief introduction at the entrance, covering key points and taboos for entering the cultural village.
You will have the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the history and culture of Sabah's six major ethnic villages and even experience the lifestyle and customs of the local indigenous people.
At the Borneo Cultural Village, you must try the indigenous homemade rice wine! Experience making Malay curry and Indian roti canai!
If you're up for a challenge, you can also try traditional outdoor fire-making by hand!
Those who are physically fit and have good reflexes can participate in the indigenous springboard jumping and traditional bamboo dance!

Located in Papar, Borneo Cultural Village is about 50 minutes away from the city centre, Kota Kinabalu. It offers a cultural experience like no other. Upon entering, the green scenery will quickly give you the feeling of visiting a village and will make you anticipate the journey you are about to have.
There are a number of cultural houses to experience different tribes such as Traditional Rugus House, Murut House, Penampang House, Bajau House and Tidong House. Each house was built by the descendants of the ethnic they represent. Besides, an unique activity where you can participate such as in Making Malay curry and Indian roti canai, Experience tasting locally brewed indigenous rice wine, Learning traditional outdoor fire-making techniques, participating in indigenous springboard jumping and traditional bamboo dance. You can also try out local delicacies.
Visit the countryside of Sabah and take a chance to sight the endemic monkey to Borneo, Proboscis Monkey that inhabit the unique river environment at Binsuluk River cruise. At night, enjoy a natural light show when hundreds of fireflies put on a glowing performance for your benefit.
