The Rheinaue recreational park, known by locals only as "the Rheinaue," is a 160-hectare recreational area in Bonn laid out as a park. The basic features of the park were created on the occasion of the 1979 Federal Horticultural Show south of Bonn's Gronau, a floodplain area that was undeveloped and used for agriculture at the time.
With its Botanical Gardens, the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn maintains one of the oldest documented and most traditional botanical gardens in Germany. Under the motto Explore, Preserve, Explain, Experience, about 11,000 plant species are cultivated there on approximately 12 hectares.
The Beethoven Monument on the Münsterplatz in Bonn commemorates the city's most famous son, the composer Ludwig van Beethoven. The monument from the 19th century is one of the city's landmarks and a popular photo motif for tourists. It is listed as an architectural monument.

The local guide will pick you up at your hotel ( if located in Bonn). Travelers can request the tour to start from any centrally located hotel. In case your hotel is outside the city we will select a convenient meeting point in the city center. Tour may end at a different location from the departure point unless requested in advance of the tour.
