Fairview Wine and Cheese Estate, nestled on the southwestern slopes of Paarl Mountain in South Africa's Western Cape, is a historic and multifaceted destination renowned for its exceptional wines, artisanal cheeses, and welcoming hospitality. Established in 1693, the estate has been under the stewardship of the Back family since 1937, with Charles Back III currently at the helm, continuing a legacy of innovation and excellence in winemaking and cheesemaking. Main Tasting Room: Featuring unique barrel-shaped 'pods,' this area offers informal tastings of six diverse wines, each paired with Fairview's handcrafted cow and goat's milk cheeses. For those seeking a more exclusive and educational experience, the Beryl Back Master Tasting Room offers seated, tutored tastings in an elegant setting overlooking the maturation cellar. Named in honor of Charles Back's late mother.
