Entrance fee: 45rmb/person; no cable car. 3: Badaling (1.5-hour drive): Famous but crowded and commercialized. Not recommended on public holidays (heavy traffic, mandatory shuttle buses waste time). Entrance fee: 45rmb/person; cable car: 120rmb/person. 4: Simatai + Gubei Water Town (2-hour drive): Explore a replica water town (stroll, try snacks, evening bazaars) and a wild, authentic Great Wall section with mountain views. Entrance fee: 280rmb/person (includes cable car).
