Known as “The Grand Dame” of Atlanta’s Peachtree Street, this classically elegant hotel is located across the street from the Fox Theater and is where the cast and crew of Gone With the Wind stayed when the film premiered in here in December 1939.
A former movie palace, the Fox Theatre is one of Atlanta's premiere venues for live entertainment and is the centerpiece of the Fox Theatre Historic District. The theater was originally planned as part of a large Shrine Temple as evidenced by its Moorish design
The structure was the home of author Margaret Mitchell in the early 20th century. The small first-floor apartment where she wrote her Pulitzer Prize-winning novel 'Gone with the Wind.
