Join the owner of Akaroa Lavender on a seasonal one-hour guided tour of the lavender fields from late November to mid-February. The story of our lavender farm is shared as you walk amongst 5,000 plus lavender plants. The opportunity to purchase lavender products is available. The income from our farm tours goes directly back into our conservation and regeneration program.

Itinerary

Your guide will meet you at the car park. The guided walk will wander through regenerating native bush, open farmland, lavender fields and sustainable forestry before finishing at a scenic picnic spot overlooking Akaroa harbour.

  • Outdoor composting toilet - if needed
  • Guide English, Mandarin, Malay
  • Bush coffee/tea brewed over our unique outdoor cooker
  • A kiwi as snack to savour whiule you enjoy your drink
  • Service animals allowed
  • Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller
  • Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
  • Not recommended for those with allegies to bees

Meeting / End Points

  • Turn into our property at the Akaroa Lavender sign. Travel 1km up a narrow and steep gravel road until you see the lavender fields. Turn right and park to the left near the woodshed. Your guide will meet you there at 1pm. Do not exceed 20km/h and drive with your lights on.
