Step back in history aboard the historic Lavengro, a 1926 wooden gaff rigged schooner. A great boat for experiencing what sailing was like in the last century. This is a great excursion for a romantic evening or the whole family.
Watch seaplane take-offs and landings up close and see the iconic Space Needle, Gas Works Park, the Fremont Bridge, and St. Marks Cathedral. Cruise past dozens of floating homes including the 'Sleepless in Seattle' floating home. See hundreds of boats from classic cruisers to modern mega yachts.
This is a 1.5-hour shared experience with a limited capacity of 22 guests. There is plenty of space on the boat to spread out and enjoy the view, or hop in with your captain and crew to learn how to sail this historic vessel.
Duration: 1 hour
Starting in South Lake Union, where all of Seattle's major industries have flourished, you will sail by boats and floating homes of all shapes, sizes, and ages. Lavengro's professional crew will "show you the ropes" as they raise the sails to engage one of the oldest forms propulsion in nature.
As you sail around Lake Union, see draw bridges that are nearly 100 years old open up for sailboats and large yachts, seaplanes taking off and landing, and locals enjoying the sunshine from kayaks and stand up paddleboards. Your captain and crew will tell you history and stories about Lake Union and Seattle while you enjoy views of:
• Floating Homes (including the Sleepless in Seattle home) • The Space Needle • Gasworks Park • Seattle's Draw Bridges (much better to see from the water rather than in traffic!) • St Marks Cathedral • The Seattle SkylineThe tour ends by returning to the original departure point after approximately 1.5 hours.
You will make your own way to the meeting points
