The Great Wall of Gubeikou
Your English speaking tour guide will pick you up at designated time in your hotel lobby (your centrally located hotel in Beijing). Then you’ll head for Gubeikou Great Wall directly. It takes around 2 hours to drive there. The hike starts from Gubeikou. You’ll reach Jinshanling Great Wall from the west gate, and then walk to the east until you get to the east gate. Gubeikou is a section of wild and unrestored Great Wall, where you can see its original condition. You won’t see crowds of people either at Gubeikou or at Jinshanling. After Gubeikou, you're supposed to walk in the mountain for about half an hour before you reach Jinshanling Great Wall. You'll reach Jinshanling Great Wall from the west gate and walk along Jinshanling Great Wall eastward.
Jinshanling Great Wall
When you reach Jinshanling Great Wall from the west gate, you'll find the condition of Jinshanling Great Wall is much better than that of Gubeikou and as quiet and untouristic. You'll walk along Jinshanling Great Wall to from west gate to east gate for about 4-5 hours, enjoying a changing and beautiful view of the Great Wall. If you feel really tired and cannot finish the whole journey at all. There are several exits at Jinshanling where you can get down on halfway. Your guide will remind you of it. The whole hiking from Gubeikou to Jinshanling is around 5-6 hours, covering about 11-12 kilometers (6-7 miles). After getting out from the east gate of Jinshanling Great Wall, a Chinese lunch will be arranged in a local restaurant. After lunch, you can enjoy your nap time in the car and we'll drop you off at your hotel (it takes another 2 hours for driving back).

- There is no toilet along the path on the Wall. Please prepare before hiking and always carry toilet paper by yourself.
- Please don’t make any appointment after the trip as the return can be late.
- You will be followed by local farmers at Jinshanling. They may you help along the way, as a reward they will sell some souvenirs. If you don’t want to buy, you have to say NO firmly at the beginning (MAYBE LATER does not work in Chinese culture) or just ignore them and do not speak a word with them; otherwise they can be persistent and follow you all the way on the Wall.
