See Boston's history come back to life in a 5-part immersive tour along The Freedom Trail. Using augmented reality (AR) technology, we tell a chronological series of events from 1765 to 1775 as if they are taking place again at each historical site. Key historical figures and artifacts appear in the real world in front of you as if they've traveled from the past to you.
This is a first-of-its-kind, unforgettable new way to relive history! The experiences are interactive, and use tablets and AR headsets provided by us. For three important historical events, you will wear an AR headset for greater immersiveness and interactivity with hand-tracking technology.
Imagine operating a revolutionary war era field cannon with your own hands! With the Relive 1776 AR Tour, you can.
Duration: 30 minutes: With this option, you can skip the walking tour and just do our virtual experiences in one place with a guide
Relive 1776 is a 5-part, immersive AR tour that takes you through the full Freedom Trail. A tour guide will walk with you as you relive key historical moments from the years 1765 - 1775. The events are wide ranging, including everything from trying on colonial fashion to operating a historically-accurate field cannon! After meeting Paul Revere, John Hancock, and Samuel Adams under The Great Elm Tree in Boston Common, you will help them fight back against tyranny in a series of events that lead up to the founding of America. The last experience is at Bunker Hill, where our walking tour ends. Each experience lasts 5-15 minutes, and includes a 1-minute video. They are all designed to be fun and educational, and there is no gore. Since we use AR, not VR, you won't experience nausea or safety issues. With AR, you can see the real world at all times. It will be as if history is being transported to you!
