The guided tour will start in Largo Plebiscito Square, then we’ll walk through Via Garibaldi, the ancient Merchants street, and reach Piazza Garibaldi, a place soaked in history that has preserved remains of different ages. We’ll continue to the Carlo V Castle, that is part of the Spanish system of fortification and located within one of the oldest areas of Monopoli old town. We’ll admire the massive bastions walking along the waterfront promenade and have a fantastic view of the Porta Vecchia and the 16th century city walls. Then we will visit the Cathedral with its Baroque decorations, that is connected with the the legend of Madonna della Madia icon’s landing in 1117. Walking along some typical alleys in the historical centre, we'll finally arrive to Vittorio Emanuele square, which is the heart of the modern city.
