It is an ancient complex of Domus de Janas: rock-cut chamber tombs, iconic remnants of pre-Nuragic Sardinia. Dating back to the Late Neolithic (4400–2000 BC), they were used for burial rituals and often feature sacred carvings and paintings. Scattered across the island, they appear both in isolation and within necropolises of over 40 tombs, offering a fascinating glimpse into the spiritual and cultural evolution of Sardinia’s early civilizations.
The Monte d'Accoddi Temple, located in Sardinia, is an ancient megalithic structure dating back approximately 5000 years. This extraordinary ziggurat, unique in Europe, features a rare and fascinating architectural style, with a terraced pyramid covered in earth. Discovered in the 20th century, the temple is believed to have been dedicated to a female deity, as suggested by the granite stele found beside it. A must-see archaeological site for history and ancient culture enthusiasts.
