We are going for a super hike in the Colombian Andes near Bogota.
It is not a competition we will go at a calm pace and enjoying the landscape.
the level is medium high but it is flat and downhill only that it is long about 3 to 4 hours walking; with stops and enjoying some snak. It is a unique way to escape from the city and relive the ancient ways that our natives had of traveling through the mountains until they reached Bogota; It is a journey to discover two different ecosystems and also end in the sanctuary of Guadalupe, one of the places that have a privileged position to take a great photo of Bogota. We will have food included and we will learn a lot about Colombian culture and nature and we will also have the opportunity to do some healthy sports walking through the mountains.
We will all meet up at the hostel and then head over on foot to our first destination. We will start our day with a delicious breakfast at a local, family-owned restaurant before loading onto the bus.
After leaving the city, we will make a brief stop to explore the Paramo ecosystem. We will learn about the diverse plant-life and biodiversity of the Andean Mountains before getting back on the bus to head to our next stop.
Next we will arrive at Matarredonda Park and set out on our trek along a stone path made during the 1600s. We will enjoy more of the rich Paramo ecosystem and finally reach Lake Teusaca, a body of water considered sacred by the Muisca indigenous peoples. After our approximately 2 hour hike, we will load back into the van for our next destination.
