Bari, among the most beautiful cities in the world, in 2019 was included in the very famous travel magazine "Lonely Planet" in the top 10 destinations of the year. An indispensable fusion between antiquity and modernity. In fact, according to some findings, Bari dates back to the 16th century BC. According to other legends, it was founded by Japige, son of Daedalus. With its proven influences, first Greek, then Roman, subsequently Byzantine and Norman during the Middle Ages, Bari is characterized as the crossroads par excellence of peoples, cultures and flavours. With our Calesse tour we aim to introduce you to its most fascinating places, through the architecture that has followed one another over the centuries, its breathtaking landscapes and its famous cuisine. The Ape Calessino is a perfect balance between modernity and tradition, typically Italian. Every little detail makes it unique. A success without borders, making it a true icon loved throughout the world.

Itinerary

Piazza del Ferrarese
Pass-by Only

We will start from the famous Piazza del Ferrarese

Castello Normanno Svevo
Pass-by Only

We will visit the Swabian Castle of Bari from the outside. An imposing fortress dating back to the 12th century, now used as a museum. Located on the edge of the historic center, near the port area and the Cathedral, with its size it represents one of the most important and well-known monuments of the city.

We will visit the outside of the Historic Center of Bari, more commonly called "Bari Vecchia" which represents a pleasant discovery both for tourists and for locals who live in other neighborhoods. The ancient part of Bari is a labyrinth of streets that are often underestimated and victims of prejudices from the past which today however experience a strong cultural redemption not only because they host the relics of the most venerated saint in the world: San Nicola where we will taste the typical "Focaccia Bari"
