Salamis
Salamis was the capital of Cyprus as far back as 1100 B.C. Located on the eastern coast of the island of Cyprus, it was a commercial hub that offered a rich and vibrant city life to its inhabitants. It have been ruled by various dominant powers over the course of its history, including Assyrians, Egyptians, Persians, and Romans. At one point during the Roman period, Salamis was the largest city in Cyprus, where more than 150.000 people used to live in.
