Zona Arqueologica Teuchitlan o Guachimontones
After an hour's drive, the first stop will be the archeological site of Guachimontones and its museum. We'll explore the site for 1 hour as I explain the most interesting facts about the Teuchitlan indigenous civilization that inhabited the Tequila Valley 2,000 years ago. We'll also visit the site museum to unravel the mysteries of this ancient civilization.
Tequila Fortaleza
After a 30 minute drive we will visit La Fortaleza, considered the finest distillery in Mexico and home to the top-ranked tequila. You'll explore the beautifully preserved 19th-century distillery and witness the traditional tequila-making process—steeped in history and authenticity. Of course, no visit would be complete without a guided tasting of their four distinct tequila styles: blanco, still strength, reposado and añejo. At the end of the tour you'll be able to buy artisanal tequila bottles at factory price!
Tequila
Our tequila adventure continues in the charming 16th-century village of Tequila! We’ll savor a delicious lunch at the local market. Afterwards, we'll embark on a leisurely stroll through the village's main plazas and streets, where you can soak up the rich history and architecture. To truly quench your thirst, we'll treat you to refreshing cantaritos – traditional tequila cocktails made with like salt, ice, lime, orange, and grapefruit. It's the perfect way to experience the authentic flavors of Tequila!
