STARTER - Bonito Flakes

To deepen your understanding of the umami in Japanese cuisine, you will shave your own bonito flakes and enjoy them with rice.

STARTER - Natto

A tasting experience of natto, a traditional Japanese fermented soybean dish known for its distinctive aroma, sticky texture, and rich umami flavor.

MAIN - Temaki sushi (Rolled Sushi)

Temaki Sushi is a traditional Japanese sushi often enjoyed at parties. We'll prepare fillings like tuna mayo, cucumber, and Surimi crab sticks!

MAIN - Takoyaki (Octopus balls)

Takoyaki is an irresistible Japanese street food! Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. We'll make it with octopus or sausage!

DESSERT - Mochi ice cream

For dessert, we’ll serve mochi ice cream topped with Matcha—a perfect balance of chewy mochi, creamy ice cream, and the rich flavor of Matcha!

  • This cooking class takes place at Hanakiya, a traditional ryokan in Kyoto. When you arrive, please ring the doorbell and mention that you have a reservation for the cooking class. The instructor will greet you. (Detailed meeting instructions, including photos, will be sent with your booking!)
