Lively Monastiraki is known for iconic landmarks including the ruins of Hadrian’s Library, the Ancient Agora and the rebuilt Stoa of Attalos, with a museum exhibiting Athenian artifacts. Demetria was an excellent guide: knowledgeable, friendly and informative. We sampled spinach pie, visited the agora, tasted different types of olives, drank proper Greek coffee, feasted on the most delicious mezedes with wine and raki. To end we tasted a gyros and loukamades. It was the most fo...
