Our accredited guide will meet you at Conwy Visitor Centre and lead you into the castle. We will get an understanding of why the castle was built and who by before examining some of the defensive features to the outer sections of this incredible structure. We will enter the Barbican and interpret the key features while hearing about historic attempts to take the castle. Exploring the outer ward and the Great Hall we will hear about day-to-day medieval castle life - everything from soft furnishings to the horrors of the dungeon! We will visit the best preserved medieval royal apartments in Wales and hear about the kings and queens and their experiences here. Exploring Eleanor's Garden, a tower and the atmospheric Royal Chapel will bring us stories of intrigue, siege and betrayal as well as stunning panoramic views across the estuary and Conwy's famous bridges.
