Itinerary

Cawfields Quarry – Survival Begins: Your journey kicks off at the striking Cawfields Quarry, where sheer volcanic rock meets the rugged line of Hadrian’s Wall. After a warm welcome, you’ll receive your own Bug-Out Bag—then face your first challenge: deciding what to pack for survival on the trail ahead. From there, your guide will lead you through the quarry’s dramatic landscape, sharing how centuries of quarrying shaped both the scenery and the Wall itself. Activity Level: Easy – mostly flat terrain.

Cawfields Roman Wall

Hadrian’s Wall Path – Hole Gap to Turret 41B: Follow your guide through Hole Gap and onto one of the most iconic stretches of the Hadrian’s Wall Path, passing ancient milecastles and turrets along the way. As you head toward the designated ‘safe zone,’ the survival scenario begins—placing you in the heart of an unfolding apocalyptic challenge. Work as a team to complete hands-on tasks that test your ability to navigate without GPS, make contact with other survivors, and build a signal before time runs out. Along the route, your guide will blend the fictional with the historical, drawing parallels between your survival mission and how Roman soldiers once patrolled, communicated, and held the line on this distant edge of empire. Activity Level: Easy to Moderate – around 1 mile with regular stops, one steeper climb via stone steps, and some uneven terrain.
