On this very scenic 1 hour guided walking tour we will travel through time to explore the story of Lough Swilly and Fort Dunree. Your qualified local guide, who has a strong personal connection with the Fort, will take you on a fascinating journey from the end of the last Ice Age to the arrival of the first inhabitants, to Dunree becoming the reputed royal seat of the McLaughlin Clan and a site of strategic and defensive importance during the Napoleonic. First and Second World Wars. On this 2 km route you will also gain an insight into the local flora and fauna in this wild and unforgettable location. Stunning views of the Lough Swilly and the Wild Atlantic Way throughout. Dunree Head is also a Wild Atlantic Way Discovery Point.
