Christ the Redeemer (we visited, ticket via Paineiras included in the package) A visit to the Cristo Redentor monument by Morro do Corcovado! The statue of Christ the Redeemer is one of the greatest symbols of the State of Rio de Janeiro, undoubtedly the best known worldwide as one of the 7 wonders, it is present in all representations of the Marvelous City. Inaugurated on October 12, 1931, on the day of Our Lady of Aparecida, Cristo Redentor is a statue of reinforced concrete and soapstone 30 meters high, not counting the 8 meters of the pedestal, and its arms stretch for an incredible 28 meters wide. The statue weighs 1145 tons and is the third largest sculpture of Jesus Christ in the world.
Dona Marta Lookout: Located 360 meters above sea level, Mirante Dona Marta is one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Rio de Janeiro. From up there it is possible to have a privileged view of Botafogo Beach with the Sugar Loaf in the background. In addition, it is also possible to see the Maracanã, the entire Guanabara Bay, Flamengo Park, Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon and Cristo Redentor!
Selarón Staircase: The famous Selarón Staircase connects the bohemian neighborhood of Lapa with the artistic neighborhood of Santa Teresa. It takes its name from the longstanding Chilean artist living in Brazil, Jorge Selarón, who decorated it entirely with green, yellow and blue mosaics, in honor of the Brazilian people. The Staircase is a world famous spot and attracts countless visitors of all nationalities every day. It was used as a backdrop for several international music videos, such as U2, pop star Michael Jackson and Rapper Snoop Dogg.
