Serengeti National Park
After arriving from Kilimanjaro International Airport, your journey takes you deep into the heart of the Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations. As you enter the park through Naabi Hill Gate, the vast plains begin to unfold, offering your first glimpse of the untamed beauty that defines the Serengeti. The afternoon is dedicated to a rewarding game drive across the central Serengeti region, known for its abundant wildlife and classic savannah landscapes. With your expert guide, explore the open plains in search of lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and various antelope species. Depending on the season, you may also witness parts of the Great Migration thousands of wildebeest and zebras moving across the land in search of fresh grazing. As the sun begins to set, you’ll head to Dik Dik Public Campsite, where you’ll enjoy dinner and an overnight stay under canvas, surrounded by the sounds of the wild. The first day offers an exciting introduction.
Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast at the campsite, set out for a full day of exploration in the endless plains of the Serengeti. This region is renowned for its rich concentration of wildlife and the raw beauty of its landscapes. Today’s game drive offers extended opportunities to track predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards, as well as large herds of elephants, wildebeest, zebras, and countless other species. Your experienced guide will navigate through different habitats including riverine forests, open savannah, and kopjes rocky outcrops that are favorite resting places for lions. Enjoy a picnic lunch in a shaded area of the park while taking in the natural surroundings. In the late afternoon, exit the central Serengeti and proceed toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you’ll arrive at Simba B Special Campsite, perched near the crater rim. Settle in for dinner and overnight, as cooler highland air and the sounds of nature signal a peaceful night ahead.
Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast, descend into the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive in one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife areas. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to a dense population of wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, hippos, lions, hyenas, and the rare black rhino. The crater’s unique ecosystem, enclosed within steep volcanic walls, offers some of the most reliable wildlife sightings in East Africa. With your guide, explore the diverse habitats ranging from grassland to forest and wetlands. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot near the hippo pool before beginning the ascent out of the crater in the early afternoon. After the game drive, you’ll begin your journey back to Arusha. Depending on your travel plans, you will be dropped off at your hotel or transferred directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your flight back home or onward to your next destination. This marks the end of an unforgettable adventure in Tanzania.
