Day 1 Embark on an exciting Eilean Donan tour starting from Edinburgh as we head west, picking up passengers in Glasgow. As we proceed, you'll enjoy a delightful view of Stirling's majestic Castle. Our itinerary includes a visit to the imposing Wallace Monument, a tribute to Scottish legend William Wallace. Continuing along our route, you'll also have the opportunity to pass by Doune Castle, renowned for its role as a filming location in the iconic movie "Monty Python & The Holy Grail."
Following lunch, if time allows, our two-day Eilean Donan tour departing from Edinburgh will include a brief stop at Rob Roy's Grave and then continue to the charming village of Killin, providing an opportunity for picturesque photos. As we journey northward, we'll traverse the atmospheric Rannoch Moor, passing through Tyndrum, and eventually arriving at Glencoe, where the MacDonald Clan endured a tragic massacre in 1692. During our visit here, we'll take a short walk and capture some photographs. Our next destination is the stunning Glenfinnan Viaduct, renowned for its appearance in the Harry Potter films, providing a perfect opportunity to capture memorable photos (available from April to October).
As we wrap up the first day of our Eilean Donan tour, our last destination will be the Highland town of Fort William, where you will check in to your accommodation.
Day 2 Head to the north after breakfast on the Eilean Donan tour, venturing into the Great Glen, a geological fault line known for its breathtaking chain of lakes, including the renowned Loch Ness. Along the way, we'll pause for a photo opportunity at Glen Garry before arriving at one of Scotland's most iconic castles, Eilean Donan Castle* (interior closed during winter), where you can explore the castle and its stunning surroundings.
Enjoy a delightful continuation of our journey as we pause for lunch in the picturesque lochside village of Fort Augustus, with splendid views of Loch Ness. After a satisfying meal, our Eilean Donan tour will commence the return trip, featuring a photo stop to appreciate Ben Nevis, Britain's tallest mountain, towering at 1,344 meters.
Next on our itinerary, we will journey through The Hermitage, offering you the opportunity to savor a tranquil forest walk in the serene Scottish woodland.
