Windsor Castle
Royal Windsor Castle. Home to royalty and 1,000 years of royal history. Windsor Castle was founded by William the Conqueror in the 11th century. Over the centuries this 900-year-old site has been extensively rebuilt and remodeled thanks to the 39 monarchs who have lived there. *St George's Chapel (Queen Elizabeth II resting place) within the grounds of Windsor Castle is one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in England. Construction of the present Chapel began in 1475 under the reign of Edward IV. When visiting make sure you look up and admire the stone ceiling, which was added by Henry VII. The Chapel has been the location of many royal weddings. Within the Chapel are the tombs of 11 monarchs, including Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip. George VI, Henry VIII and Charles I. There is so much to see at Windsor Castle - from the stunning State Apartments to the gigantic, incredibly detailed Queen Mary's Dolls' House

In its 800 years of history, Lacock Abbey has been many things. It started as a nunnery in the 1200s before becoming a Tudor family home. Since then it has evolved with every owner and in 1835, the first photographic negative was captured in the Abbey. Today Lacock is a well-known location for a host of film and TV productions including Harry Potter and Downton Abbey.

Tour pick up times are flexible but MUST be advised at time of booking. • Tours include entry to Windsor Castle and Laycock Abbey. Chauffeurs also provide a panoramic tour of Stonehenge and Lacock Village with historic highlights, but are not accredited tour guides. The tour descriptions are suggested itineraries, the passengers may visit any other sites within the tour areas that they may wish to visit, time permitting. The driver will discuss any specific requests with passengers on the day.
