We leave the car at a little distance away from the hustle bustles and hire a Bicycle Rickshaw to go into the Spice Market. Functioning Since "Mughal era" this largest Spice market of Asia is a bundle of many surprises. This medieval rustic market is busy with locals and tourists and the sound of multi lingual chatter. We soon enter one of the famous and old Spice depot / storehouse for a briefing about many famed Indian spices. You will be surprised to know that, in your home country how heavily you are paying for some of daily usage spices in your kitchen. Here you can get your favorite Spices at very economical prices. Don’t fell rushed and take your ample time to know about the spices, their usage and other vital information. While leaving, the smell of spices is something that your nostrils will never forget.
Mughal era Chandni chowk (moonlight square) is old but still one of the oldest mercantile hub in old Delhi. Once can get the view of the magnificent red fort located at its eastern end. It was envisaged by the daughter of mughal emperor Shah Jahan in 17th century. The market was once divided by a beautiful Canal (now closed) to view to beautiful reflection of Moon. Enjoy walking and admiring its colorful markets with traditional wares and most importantly its textiles and ethnic handmade clothing.
Soon the view of the grand mosque "Jama mosque” emerges and those who are interested in visiting this 400 year old Mughal masterpiece, they are most welcome to join by paying the required entry fees to enter. Also known as the Friday mosque, this mosque has the capacity of holding 25000 devotees at one time.
