Santorini's Old Port, also known as "Fira Port," is the starting and the ending point for our activity! It is a charming harbor nestled at the base of the steep cliffs below the town of Fira, the capital of Santorini. Accessible by a series of steps, a cable car, or by riding traditional donkeys, the Old Port provides a picturesque landscape, a relaxed and authentic atmosphere, featuring a collection of waterfront tavernas, shops, and cafes.
After a scenic 20-minute sail in the heart of the Caldera, we reach our first destination, Nea Kameni, the famous Volcano nestled in the embrace of the Aegean Sea near Santorini, is a testament to nature's raw beauty and the captivating allure of geological wonders. This small island, born from the depths of ancient volcanic activity, exudes a mystique that enchants all who set foot on its rocky shores. In the islet of Nea Kameni you will find the famous Volcano of Santorini. Take some time to walk around and feel the volcanic energy. The dramatic landscape and the dark cliffs sculpted from lava rocks will capture your heart. Make sure to hike to the rim of the crater and admire the unique view. Please note that the hiking is done on your own and there is no guide with you, so you must take care of your safety. The volcano has an entrance fee €5/per person by cash that it's not include in the price.
Our next stop is the neighboring Palea Kameni island, the popular destination famous for its Hot Springs. Born from the remnants of a volcanic eruption in 1600 BCE, the island is a testament to the forces that shaped the Aegean landscape. Dive into the thermal waters that are full of sulfur, iron and other volcanic ingredients and enjoy their healing properties on your skin and muscles. Please note that the sulfur in the water might leave a stain on light-colored swimwear.
