It is different from the rest of Tuscany, with an interesting history as a free port in its past. We will start from Piazza del Municipio, the dropping point for all the shuttle busses coming from the harbour. You will see how open minded was the Medici vision in creating their cities but even the great effort we made to rebuilt our historical memories: for example the Synagogue temple, totally rebuilt after WWII, We will see the Medici Harbour, the Old Fortress and the local fish market, the old district “La Venezia” with its canals and buildings, The final part will be via della Madonna known as the street of the three churches (Armenian, Greek and catholic) and the local Food Market. Authorised Guide according to the Italian Ministry of Tourism national list.
If you book the tour in the afternoon, please consider that the local food market could be closed.
