Arriving at the base of Cristo Rei, we're immediately struck by the sheer magnitude of the structure. Standing at a staggering height of over 100 meters, the statue's outstretched arms seem to embrace the entire city below, symbolizing protection and peace. We now have the option of just enjoying the sweeping panoramic views of Lisbon and the Tagus River stretching out before us from the base or going inside and go even higher (requires entrance ticket: 8€).
