This tour has been conceived to suit visitors that are keen to discover one of most iconic Normandy sights on a day trip from Bayeux (or even from Paris, via Bayeux, by train!). Historian by education and guide-lecturer by trade, I take it upon myself to make this experience both interesting and informative regardless of the visitors age.
*Explore the village and the Abbey of Mont Saint Michel (UNESCO World Heritage Site) in the company of your private guide; *The guided tour of the Abbey is part of the experience. *Round-trip from the door-step of your hotel or Bayeux train-station; *Scenic drive through the picturesque Normandy countryside in an air-conditioned mini-van.
Please note that, given the distances involved, the itinerary includes a 1h30' drive from Bayeux to Mont Saint Michel (which means a total of three hours both ways)
Pickup included
Mont Saint Michel is a UNESCO World Heritage Site whose history spans over 1300 years! Your accredited guide-lecturer will be by your side every step of the way as you will explore 'the wonder of the western world'. The visit starts with a shuttle ride from the car park to the foot of the mount, an opportunity for the guest to contemplate the surrounding area while getting acquainted with the particularities of the Bay of Mont St. Michel. Next, as you will work your way up to the top of Mont St. Michel where the Abbey was perched a millennium ago, the guide will take you through the history of the homonymous village. Thanks to the fast-track tickets you will not have to worry about standing in line to pay the admission fee. The most important part of this experience is, without doubt, the guided visit of the Abbey itself. Upon completion of this leg of the tour, you will return to the car park.
