Itinerary

Our first stop will be an old traditional Japanese house. *Private Japanese cooking class with a local guide. *We will prepare a seasonal bento box. This house is a rental vacation house, renovated but the owner kept it in the traditional style.

Japan salamander center has reopened as an aquarium in April 2024. Based on the concept of "an aquarium connected to the nature of TheAkame48Falls," this huge aquarium is integrated with real waterfalls and the valley where special natural monuments live. The museum displays amphibians and eight kinds of moss that live in the valley.

Akame 48 Waterfalls

Then we head to Akame 48 Falls. This area is famous for many things and one of the most interesting is that this was the birthplace of the famous Japanese ninjas! It takes about three hours to walk the complete trail there and back. We are NOT going to walk the full trail. We're going as far as the Nunobiki Falls. It will take about 25 minutes one way. If you want to go on the end of the trail, you can do so on your own. When you return to the start, you can take a bus or taxi back to Akameguchi station. This is a private tour so you can walk at your own pace.
