Then, start the city tour at the Central Square, surrounded by the Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica, or Notre Dame Cathedral. This cathedral is considered to be a symbol of Ho Chi Minh City, thus attracting a large number of visitors. The second destination is the Central Post Office nearby the city’s cathedral. This construction was built in the late of 19th century and was strongly influenced by the Gothic, Renaissance, and French architectural style. Then, visit Reunification Palace, also known as Independence Palace, the home and workplace of the president in Vietnam War before the Fall of Saigon.
Head to your next stop, the Jade Emperor Pagoda, located in the city center and built by the Chinese community in 1909. Continue the trip to view the daily life of Saigon people at Ben Thanh Market in the Center of District 1. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant before driving to the Cu Chi Tunnels. Beneath the ground lie approximately 125 miles (200 km) of tunnels, dug by hand and inhabited by the forces of the Vietnamese guerrillas during the Vietnam war. Return to your hotel at the end of the day.
