Explore the Vendicari Nature Reserve! It will amaze you with its biological diversity, its legends and the presence of many birds, so much so that it is nicknamed the "bird hotel".
We will stop for a birdwatching experience, but also to admire the ancient salt pans, fundamental for the extraction of salt that was used to preserve tuna.
We will then move to the beach to understand the importance of some plant species present here. Finally we will arrive at Torre Sveva and the “Tonnara”, where the fish was processed; we will then talk about the ancient practice of tuna fishing in Sicily and the life that tuna fishermen led during fishing periods.
Our meeting will take place in front of the ticket office. From there an extraordinary path will lead us to the discovery of the ancient Tonnara (more precisely the place where tuna was processed), an ancient defense tower, the Pantani and the house of the saltworker, as once salt was extracted here for the preservation of tuna. Another panoramic stop will give us the opportunity to admire the local birdlife through binoculars, it is no coincidence that the Oasis is spoken of as "the hotel of birds"; there are many species that choose to nest here every year. Among them, the characteristic pink flamingos. We will reach Vendicari beach and, if it is open, we will have the opportunity to visit the eco-museum. Anecdotes, tales and songs of slaughter and botanical species will frame this experience, making it unique and fun at the same time.
We will visit the place where the fish was processed, and discover fishing rituals and songs and how to process tuna
We will admire an ancient defense tower, located right inside the reserve
