Explore several sights of medieval architecture such as fortifications & stone towers in the Old town. Also, visit one of the main markets which also happens to be one of the largest Christmas markets in Germany and one of the most famous in the world. Stroll through the main square and see the church tower which is the second tallest brick tower in the world. Also, have a chance to see a half-timbered house where Germany’s most famous artist lived.
Start your tour with a visit to the St. Lorenz, a medieval church which was badly damaged during the second world war which was later restored. On its west facade, you will see rich art-works.
Next, you'll see the virtues of faith, hope, charity, courage, temperance, and patience which are represented in figures. The Fountain represents six virtues crowned by the figure of Justice.
As we continue, you will walk on the Fleisch Bridge, constructed in late Renaissance style. The bridge crosses the river Pegnitz in the center of the old town, linking the districts St. Sebald and St. Lorenz along the axis of the main market.
