Mt. Fuji 5th Station
Nestled at an elevation of approximately 2,300 metres, the Fuji 5th Station serves as a breathtaking gateway to Japan's iconic peak, Mount Fuji. As one of the most popular starting points for climbers and hikers, this station offers a unique blend of natural beauty, cultural significance, and invigorating mountain air. Please note* From July 5th to September 10th, due to private vehicle restrictions, visitors are required to use the Fuji Subaru line shuttle bus to reach the 5th station. This departs from the Fuji 5th station car park and costs 2,500JPY per person/round trip.
Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Jinja Shrine
Nestled at the foot of Mount Fuji, Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine is a serene spot steeped in history. Dedicated to the goddess Konohanasakuyahime, its vibrant red torii gates stand out against the lush surroundings. As you explore the peaceful grounds, enjoy breathtaking views of the mountain that inspire reflection and reverence. This shrine is a perfect stop to connect with Japan’s spiritual heritage while appreciating the natural beauty that surrounds it.
Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nemba
Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nenba is a picturesque traditional Japanese village at the foot of Mount Fuji. Thatched-roof houses sit in lush gardens, offering a glimpse into rural life from centuries past. Visitors can stroll through scenic pathways, explore artisan shops, and experience cultural workshops, all while enjoying stunning mountain views. Depending on the amount of time travellers choose to spend in each location, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to reach all of the suggested stops outlined in the tour description. We will agree on which tour stops are most important to you prior to your tour to ensure you're able to enjoy the sights you are most keen to see.
- Travel between Tokyo and the Fuji area takes around two hours by car, so we have factored return travel time into the 10 - 12 hours we have allotted for the total duration of the tour. Similarly, congestion on the roads may result in longer (or shorter) travel times overall.
- Please avoid booking this tour if your evening plans are particularly time sensitive as we are unable to guarantee specific return times.
- 2. Changing weather conditions in the area do not guarantee clear views of Mt. Fuji on the day of your tour. As this is a factor out of our control, we are unable to accept refundable cancellations on the day of your tour, in addition to negative tour reviews based on the status of the weather. We thank you for your understanding regarding this aspect.
