Gwanghwamun Square
Gwanghwamun Square is a historic and symbolic public space located in the heart of Seoul, South Korea. Situated in front of Gwanghwamun Gate, the main entrance to Gyeongbokgung Palace, the square is a significant cultural and historical site. It was opened to the public in 2009 as part of a larger urban beautification project and serves as a venue for cultural events, festivals, and civic gatherings.
The Palace Royal Guard Changing Ceremony held at Gwanghwamun Gate at Gyeongbokgung Palace reenacts the guard-changing procedure that took place during the Joseon dynasty, along with the reproduction of costumes and weapons, based on historical records.
