Temple of Karnak
The Karnak Temple Complex, known as Karnak, is a sprawling collection of ancient structures near Luxor, Egypt. Its history mirrors that of Thebes, with religious importance shifting as capitals changed. Before the Eleventh Dynasty, Thebes was minor, with small shrines dedicated to local deities like Mut and Montu.
